A unique swimming hat-trick

Deborah ‘Debbie’ Meyer, a sixteen-year-old student, achieved a milestone during the 1968 Games. The American swimmer won the 200-, 400-, and 800-m freestyle swimming events in Mexico City to become the first ever swimmer to win three individual gold medals in one Olympics.
